Why Work for Otterbein?

It’s our small house that makes a big difference. Otterbein Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Neighborhoods are unique, faith-based nursing homes created around the “small house, big difference” concept.

Our neighborhoods consist of five large ranch-style homes with open floor plans. Each home houses 10 elders, each with their own bedroom and bathroom. As an LPN in our Small House Neighborhoods, you'll become a part of the family-like setting that makes our organization stand out from the others.

What’s a Day in the Life Like?

As a member of the neighborhood, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to those living in your neighborhood.

And mostly, you’ll need the ability to be compassionate, laugh every now and then, and have fun with your neighborhood family.

Other responsibilities will include being able to:

  • Communicate a sense of caring, concern, and dignity for elders.
  • Understand how to place decision-making in the hands of elders.
  • Make prompt and accurate judgments with regard to elder care and emergencies.
  • Work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent literacy, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
